Liebster Award!

Let me start this with a grin. ^____^

Over the weekend, I have received a Liebster Award from Beautiful Doki Doki. She is a USA based beauty blogger who's into Asian cosmetics. I am so honored to be included in her 10 blogger nominees. :D

The Liebster Award is generally given to up and coming bloggers who has less than 200 followers (I've read on some blogs that it used to be 3000). The term Liebster is German in origin and means sweetest, nicest, kindest... Which could probably be appropriate because I feel that way right now about the person who nominated me. :D

The Liebster Award is an online award, there's no real trophy here or prize or anything. It works like a chain letter, where bloggers pass the award from one to the other, but more of like a multilevel network / pay-it-forward scene. That's why some bloggers don't feel at all obliged to accept it and pass it on, which is okay. But there are some benefits to it, to those who would take the extra time to do it. Among the benefits are:
  • Making new friends.
  • Gaining more readers.
  • Sharing your readers with others.
  • Creating a community of bloggers.

Rules

  • You must link back to the person who nominated you.
  • You must answer the 10 Liebster questions given to you by the nominee before you.
  • You must pick 10 bloggers to be nominated for the award with under 200 followers.
  • You must come up with 10 questions for your nominees to answer.
  • You must go to their blogs and notify your nominees!

Beautiful Doki Doki's Questions

  • What is your favorite thing about blogging and why did you start?
I started blogging around 10 years ago at Multiply, and it was mostly personal posts. I love the idea of being able to write and have others read what I write, without having to force them into reading it. They are at liberty to visit my blog if they wanted to. And if they're not interested with what I have to say, they could leave, as easy as that, and won't have to worry if they're being rude to me. That is what I like most about blogging. I could state my opinions and yet no one could scold me for being too frank or if my perception of things is wrong, or what not.
  • How would you describe your fashion style?
I have to say it's a mixture of feminine, edgy, laid back and conservative. I'll probably make a separate post on this, since I would like to discuss it further. I'll put a link in this post when I have it up. ;)
  • If you could be fluent in any language, what would it be and why?
Probably French, because I would really love to go to France one day, it's my ultimate dream! And also because French sounds so romantic. :D
  • What is the worst skincare product you've ever tried?
I haven't tried a lot of products, but I'll have to go with a peel-off mask. It's so messy using it! It's like putting on glue on my face. (I haven't reviewed the one I have tried yet)
  • What is one makeup item you couldn't live without?
I have two: lip balm and powder. But if I really have to choose one then I'll choose lip balm because I can always wipe my face or wash it to get rid of the oil, but chapped lips? I'm not sure what else could help.
  • If time and money weren't an issue, where would you travel and for how long?
France and the other countries in Europe! I'd love to be a knapsack traveler, going places without worrying the hows, when, where. :D
  • What is your summer beauty routine?
Summer is pretty much all year round here in the Philippines. My normal beauty routine is putting on BB cream with SPF on a clean face, concealing (and failing at it), putting on powder, brows, tight lining my upper eyelid, curling my lashes, putting on mascara, blush and a lippie. :D
  • What is the first Asian cosmetic brand you ever tried?
I have grown up with Avon and Maybelline products, neither of them is Asian. My first Asian cosmetic brand would have to be Careline (Filipino cosmetic brand for teens), bought a few years ago when I needed some makeup and I needed something like a kit where almost everything is included and it's dirt cheap. :D
  • Does cute packaging get you to buy?
Yes, absolutely! I'm inlove with Benefit and Etude House mainly because of their packaging! OMG! Why do the cute ones have to be the ones that's expensive?! LOL! Majolica Majorca, Holika Holika, Essense, Tony Moly, the YSL lipsticks... I just can't help but drool...

Actually, to answer the question truthfully, cute packaging makes me want to buy. If only I have the budget I'm sure I would have brought something. :D
  • Coffee or tea?
Both! :D I love them both, either hot or cold. :D

My Nominees

  1. What is the story behind your blog title?
  2. What is your go-to makeup/fashion brand?
  3. What is one recipe/dish you can make that you are most proud of?
  4. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What do you consider beautiful in regards to aesthetics? Doesn't necessarily have to be about a person.
  5. If you could visit yourself at the moment you were starting with makeup and skincare, what is one (only one) advice you would give your younger self?
  6. Urban or countryside? Where would you rather be?
  7. When is the last time you bought a toy for yourself and what is it?
  8. What is your usual sick day routine?
  9. Name one good thing and one bad thing in your life right now.

And that's it! Happy blogging everyone! :D
